Use a ruler to mark 1 centimeter intervals along the sides of the rectangles and then draw lines to make the centimeter squares. Find the number of centimeter squares and write the area.

A 3 x 4 cm rectangle

Area= 12square centimeters

A 2 x 3 cm rectangle

Area= 6square centimeters

A 5 x 4 cm rectangle

Area= 20square units

A 3 x 6 cm rectangle

Area= 18square centimeters

A 6 x 5 cm rectangle

Area= 30square centimeters

A 2 x 7 cm rectangle

Area= 14square centimeters
